TransGrid Announces Managing Director's Scholarship for Wagga Local

Adam Rand, Kevin Murray Managing Director TransGrid, and Jeremy RobertsTransGrid the New South Wales Manger and Operator of Australia's largest high voltage transmission system today announced that Wagga local Adam Rand, a 4th apprentice at TransGrid's Wagga Regional Centre had been awarded a Managing Director's Apprenticeship Scholarship.

The Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to apprentices who have demonstrated high academic achievement, leadership qualities and an interest in furthering their studies in electrical engineering.

The Scholarship will provide financial support to Adam in undertaking initial full time Bachelor Degree studies in a professional electrical engineering discipline, whilst also gaining valuable and practical work experience.

Speaking at the launch Adam said, " I am very excited at the prospect of further study, particularly at a higher level as I have a very keen interest in electrical engineering and furthering my career".

He went on to say how appreciative he was of the opportunity that TransGrid had afforded him.

TransGrid's Managing Director, Kevin Murray, said, " TransGrid is committed to life long learning and providing quality learning opportunities for all of its staff. It is very gratifying to see this young man who, through hard work and commitment to study being rewarded and given an opportunity through the Scholarship Program, to further his study and career".

Mr Murray also said " I am personally committed to this program and I look forward to the day when Adam graduates and takes his place at the forefront of his chosen field. He will act as a beacon for his peers to follow in his footsteps".

"This commitment by TransGrid will reap rewards not only for Adam but for TransGrid and by extension the broader community".
