TransGrid Celebrates Long-Serving Employees
TransGrid's long-serving employees are being recognised at an official function held in Sydney today.
TransGrid, the owner and operator of the New South Wales high voltage transmission system holds ceremonies to recognise dedicated employees on an annual basis.
The awards to be presented include recognition of twenty five years service being awarded to 24 employees, and recognition of forty years service recognition being awarded to 5 individuals.
"It's the hard work and loyalty of these long standing employees which have been instrumental to TransGrid being a leading performer in the electricity industry", said TransGrid Managing Director, Kevin Murray.
"It is easy to understand why so many employees remain with the organisation for such a long time, considering most entered the organisation with fulfilling a career in mind", Mr Murray said.
Employees from the Central and Southern Regions form part of a team, which covers an area stretching from the Victorian border through to far reaches of Western New South Wales. Their work is important to maintaining a service that many take for granted. However, day-to-day their skills and dedication ensure that the state's electricity transmission network remains as one of the world's most reliable.
"Although this marks a significant milestone for these exemplary employees, TransGrid is committed to passing down knowledge and experience to its newer workforce."
"These employees have been valuable role models to the younger workforce at TransGrid, and many have been instrumental to their personal and career development."
"We are currently recruiting fifteen new apprentices across regional New South Wales, which will bring the total number of TransGrid apprentices to sixty nine", said Mr Murray.
