Michael is a seasoned Senior Executive having worked within leading listed and multinational companies in a number of executive and leadership roles based in the UK, US, Canada, Russia, PNG and Australia.
Prior to joining Transgrid in 2022, Michael was EVP Corporate, General Counsel & Group Secretary for almost 8 years at Oil Search Limited. He led corporate teams spanning Legal, Compliance, Risk, Regulatory, Contracts & Procurement, People & Culture, Health & Wellbeing and M&A.
Michael’s in-house career began in 2001 when he joined BP plc. Over the next thirteen years he progressed through numerous international legal leadership positions, culminating in appointment as Associate General Counsel, BP responsible for global upstream businesses.
Michael began his career in private practice at Linklaters, practising in London and Brussels. He maintains a range of professional networks including member of the Australian Centre of International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and Member of the Australian Institute Company Directors (AICD).
