Be Safe Kidz is TransGrid’s exciting new schools program which is aimed at primary school students. The program targets schools where we are actively working in the community, either building new assets or upgrading existing assets. The Be Safe Kidz program covers a range of areas including:
- A history of electricity;
- Who is TransGrid?;
- The importance of staying safe around TransGrid’s assets and electricity in general; and
- TransGrid’s environmental commitment.
The program involves a short presentation (around 45 minutes including time for questions). The presentation is then followed by either a site visit to one of our nearby assets or the undertaking of an environmental activity, for example, a tree planting at the school.
TransGrid has a long standing partnership with Greening Australia and would supply all of the trees and equipment for a tree planting.
