TransGrid offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain experience in a range of areas within the disciplines of:
- Electrical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Accounting
Work Experience placements are generally offered over the various University vacation periods or may be arranged for longer periods up to six months if agreed.
The number and location of positions available for work experience varies each year depending on business requirements. However, the majority of available placements are for Electrical Engineering undergraduates.
Applicants are expected to display a high level of academic skill in a relevant degree as well as capabilities in the areas of teamwork, communication and leadership.
Placements may be in any of TransGrid's seven Business Units and may be offered at any of TransGrid's main locations including Sydney CBD, Sydney West (Horsley Park), Newcastle, Yass and Wagga Wagga.
Work Experience students receive an allowance from TransGrid to cover travel and work-related expenses during their work experience period. The amount of allowance is based upon academic year and experience.
Applicants must have a current driver's license.
Preference is given to those students in their final or penultimate year.
