At 10:50am this morning a fault occurred on equipment at TransGrid's Substation adjacent to Bayswater powerstation in the Hunter Valley, causing the tripping of generator supplies.
In NSW, as many as 100,000 homes were affected in parts of the central coast, western sydney and a small amount of customers on the south coast.
A minor fire resulted from this incident which was contained to the immediate area around the equipment. There were no injuries resulting from the fault.
Supplies were progressively restored within the hour.
