TransGrid, the New South Wales electricity transmission network operator, today
announced the appointment of Mr Bruce Foy to the position of Chairman.
Mr Foy has been TransGrid’s Acting Chairman since February 2008, after being first
appointed to TransGrid’s Board of Directors in December 2005.
Mr Foy brings extensive experience in corporate and financial management to the
Chairman’s position, having held various positions within the banking industry, most
recently as the Managing Director Country Head of the ING Bank N.V, a position he
held until 2005.
Currently, Mr Foy is also a Director/Trustee of the First State Superannuation Trustee Corporation, a Director of The Doctors Health Fund Ltd, a Director of Southern Uranium Ltd and a Director of the Financial Planning Association of Australia Ltd.
Mr Foy was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in
1989 and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce, from the
University of Queensland. Mr Foy is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of
Company Directors.
