TransGrid owns and operates a state-wide telecommunications network made up of microwave radio systems and an optical fibre network. Our telecommunications network utilises an extensive range of communication towers and high voltage transmission line towers.

Our radio sites are available for use by third party organisations including government departments, emergency services groups, community groups, private companies and licensed telecommunications carriers. Our high voltage transmission line towers are also available for use by licensed telecommunications carriers.
Application forms for occupancy of either a TransGrid communications tower or high voltage tower are available on the links below. Each communication tower application must be accompanied by a radio site amendment form.
All installations must be compliant with the TransGrid procedure “Installation of Equipment at Radio Sites”. This procedure describes the requirements for the installation of equipment at TransGrid radio sites, to ensure that uniform and acceptable application information is provided and installation practices are maintained.
