Maintaining nearly 12,500 kilometres of high voltage transmission line is a challenging task and one which requires expertise and world class skills.
Most of TransGrid’s transmission lines cross private property, which TransGrid requires access to in order to conduct routine maintenance both on and around the transmission lines.
For this reason, TransGrid establishes easements immediately below and on either side of the lines to ensure TransGrid and our contractors can access the area for routine line inspections and repairs, as well as in the case of an emergency.
