The TransGrid Advisory Council (TAC) held its fourth meeting in Sydney on 29 March, 2017 at TransGrid’s office in Ultimo. TAC members discussed the recent energy event within NSW, TransGrid’s revenue submission, and TransGrid’s proposed Powering Sydney’s Future project. The below points were discussed by the TAC:
- The recent Energy Event on 10 Feb, details of TransGrid’s response to the event, forward modelling on demand and the effectiveness of market signals to curb demand.
- TransGrid’s current Revenue determination process. The TAC was provided with a summary of TransGrid’s proposed capex and opex programs, and next steps in the revenue determination process.
- The Independent Review into the Future Security of the NEM (Finkel Review), including a summary of TransGrid and TAC member submissions.
- Update to the TAC on the proposed Powering Sydney’s Future project with a focus on actions taken in response to recommendations to further explore non-network solutions.
