TransGrid to lend a hand to local community groups

9/02/2016

As part of TransGrid's ongoing commitment to building positive relationships with local communities, we have selected Coffs Harbour and Taree to be part of our 2016 Community Partnerships Program.

‘Our Community Partnerships Program provides local community groups and organisations with the opportunity to apply for funding for initiatives that deliver lasting benefits to their local community,’ TransGrid’s Community Engagement Manager, Paul Johnson said.

Now in its fifth year, NSW high voltage network operator’s community program has provided more than $250,000 in grants to support local initiatives across New South Wales.

“The program is part of our ongoing commitment to support community initiatives where our assets are located, being built, or upgraded,” TransGrid’s Community Engagement Manager, Paul Johnson said.

Funding applications will be accepted from not-for-profit community organisations which are located within the Coffs Harbour and Greater Taree City Council areas.

Preference will be given to applications which improve or promote at least one of the following areas:

  • public safety / wellbeing

  • health

  • education, or

  • the environment

“We are looking forward to working with community groups and organisations to bring lasting positive changes to the people of Coffs Harbour and Taree,” Mr Johnson added.

Applications close 5pm on Friday 11 March 2016.
