TransGrid Advisory Council meeting 30 August 2017

The third TransGrid Advisory Council (TAC) meeting for 2017 occurred on Wednesday 30 August, at TransGrid’s office in Ultimo. The meeting followed on from discussions in the June TAC meeting with TransGrid reporting back to TAC members on questions they had raised regarding TransGrid’s approach to the Finkel Review and its plans to transition to a renewable future. The TAC had an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of TransGrid CEO Paul Italiano, discussing the current energy climate and the upcoming summer. The following key points were discussed by the TAC:

  • TransGrid’s proposed response to the Finkel Review and consultation with the TAC.
  • Updates on TransGrid’s strategy for the development of Renewable Zones in line with the Finkel recommendations. The TAC were consulted on the strategy and presented with the analysis that was requested of TransGrid at the June TAC, providing more detail for consultation.
  • An update on TransGrid’s Revenue Determination process including an outline of rough dates for the Revenue Proposal Working Group.
  • Energy security impacts for the City of Sydney and Powering Sydney’s Future, including a discussion around the uses of demand management.
