TransGrid’s Albury substation Secondary Systems Replacement Project and associated Albury to Hume Underground Fibre Optic Project is a major investment in the safe, reliable and efficient supply of electricity to the region.
This project will provide a modern and reliable telecommunication link between Jindera, ANM, Albury and Hume substations and the rest of TransGrid’s network across the state.
TransGrid is committed to working with you throughout the development of the project and will update you on a regular basis.
work will include a range of small scale construction activities including
removal of old equipment, digging trenches, laying foundations and installing
new equipment including new monitoring systems and buildings.
Work at the substation is expected to commence late August 2015 with completion scheduled for late 2016.
The Albury to Hume underground fibre optic project involves the construction of approximately 40 kilometres of underground optical fibre, associated pit infrastructure and the installation of high speed telecommunications equipment between TransGrid’s Jindera, Albury and Hume substation as well as the ANMsubstation.
The conduit for the Albury to Hume Underground Fibre Optic Project will be installed with a mix of trenching and boring techniques.
For any road crossings the conduit will be under bored with a minimum depth cover of 600 mm.
This component of the project will involve three stages:
