Cooma Substation Rebuild

Cooma Substation Rebuild Project involved building a new substation to replace the existing TransGrid substation that has operated for the past 60 years.

The Cooma substation was established in 1954 and its equipment was approaching the end of its serviceable life.
This project is a major investment into the reliability of current and future supply for the NSW alpine region and far south coast.

The new substation has been built across the road from the existing substation on the Monaro Highway and has been designed to look like the existing substation that is operated by TransGrid and local distributor Essential Energy.
