Anthea McKinnell

Biography

Anthea McKinnell was appointed to the Transgrid board in June 2025 as an independent director and is the Chair of the Board Audit and Risk Committee.

Ms McKinnell is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She holds a Master of International Tax from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University.

Prior to joining the Transgrid board, Anthea had an extensive executive career with more than 20 years experience in the resources industry most recently retiring from the Chief Financial Officer role at Santos Limited in 2024. This experience has provided a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, funding and capital markets, and operational, financial and information systems and risk management.
