Help keep your community safe

Substations, transmission lines, and easements are essential for delivering electricity to your home, but they can also be extremely dangerous if people enter these restricted areas or get too close to high-voltage infrastructure.

For your safety, never enter a substation or Transgrid site without authorisation. These locations contain high-voltage equipment and should only be accessed by trained and authorised people.

If you see something concerning around a substation, call the hotline.

Your call could save a life

Entering substations, climbing transmission towers or getting too close to transmission equipment can lead to serious injury or even death.

You can help prevent a serious incident by reporting concerning activity in and around Transgrid substations.

Call our emergency number 1800 027 253 whenever you see:

  • People unlawfully entering a Transgrid substation or restricted site
  • Someone climbing or damaging a transmission tower
  • Damaged equipment, fencing or signage
  • Sparks, fire or other life-threatening hazards near a substation, easement or transmission tower
