Transgrid's Project Management Pathways Program offers the opportunity to train as Project Administrators – fully funded, no experience required. Trainee Project Administrators join a supported development pathway designed to set them up for success.

Successful applicants:

  • Join as a Transgrid permanent employee, receiving competitive pay, employee benefits, structured training, and study leave.

  • Gain hands-on experience working in the Delivery Projects team, who build and maintain critical infrastructure that powers Australia’s energy future.

When can I apply for a Project Administrator role?

Applications close on 23 November.

What qualifications do I need to apply?

None. No previous experience is needed. You could be starting or changing your career or returning to work after time away. But qualities you should bring to the role include customer service, great time management and organisational skills, as well as a sense of curiosity and desire to learn new things. 

When would training start?

Employment and training in Certificate IV in Project Management Practice will commence on 24 February 2026.

Where is the job located?

We have an opportunity to hire Project Administrators across most of our locations, including Newcastle, Ultimo, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Yass, and Orange.

Is this a paid, permanent role?

Yes, you’ll be fully employed by Transgrid and will receive $117,192.71 inclusive of 16% superannuation, and work a 9-day fortnight.

What flexibility does Transgrid offer?

Transgrid offers great flexibility with Rostered Days Off (RDO) each fortnight, the ability to work some days from home, and study leave. You’ll also get great value from working in the Delivery team and spending time in the office.

Who pays for the training?

Certificate IV in Project Management Practice training is fully funded by Transgrid.

Is everyone enrolled in the Certificate IV?

Yes. 100% of participants will complete the Cert IV in Project Management Practices.

How many positions are there?

We’re looking to onboard eight Project Administrators as part of the Project Management Pathways Program. Joining as a group means you’ll have a supportive community from the start – and you’ll be newbies together.
