Since the first confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in Australia and NSW, TransGrid has prepared for the spread of COVID-19 across the community. The health and safety of our people, customers and the community and maintaining the continuity of the supply of electricity to NSW and the ACT continue to be our highest priorities during this challenging time.
We are implementing our COVID-19 response plan which in summary focuses on:
- the health and wellbeing of staff, contractors and the community
- continuity of electricity supply to customers
- maintaining TransGrid’s solvency and business strength.
Maintaining the supply of electricity
As the manager and operator of the high voltage electricity network in NSW and the ACT, we have an obligation to our customers and the community to deliver safe, reliable and lowest-cost electricity to households and business.
Many of our personnel are critical to the continuity of the electricity supply. We are following the advice of the Australian and NSW Governments to ensure we continue to operate safely and efficiently.
Our network is operating as normal. We will provide regular updates to our customers, the community and to other stakeholders as required.
