Safety crews are conducting repairs to six structures damaged by thunderstorm and extreme winds in the state’s south west slopes region yesterday.

Road closures as crews repair storm damage at Boorowa, NSW

The storm went through the town of Boorowa, east of Young, at around 3:30pm on Tuesday, damaging the Bango to Cowra 132kv transmission line. A section of the line fell on Rye Park Road, resulting in the closure of the road.
Traffic detours are in place and TransGrid crews are working to repair the line. Drivers are encouraged to follow police instructions and signage in the area.
The road is expected to be closed for at least 48 hours.
