Transgrid crews will be completing line works on the transmission line supplying Far West NSW this weekend.
05 June 2025
The work will be carried out on Saturday (June 7) from 8am to 1pm.
Importantly, the power supply to communities in Broken Hill and Far West NSW will not be interrupted while the work is completed, with back-up generation in place.
Transgrid’s Head of Far West Operations Sam Pickering said: “Following the successful reconstruction of the 3.5km section of line damaged in last year’s severe weather event, we will be undertaking works which will further safeguard the lines during extreme weather events.
“During the off-peak on Saturday, 12 personnel using up to five elevated work platforms will complete the works.
“We once again thank Broken Hill and surrounding communities for their ongoing support of our crews and patience and understanding as we complete these works.”
Transgrid is working closely with Essential Energy and Perilya Mine in the planning and delivery of the works.
