Map of planned works

The interactive map below shows when and where network inspections and maintenance are planned.

You can also type in your address in the search bar of the map to find out if works are planned near your property.

The key shows different types of works. You can click the ‘tick’ next to each work type to hide and show different works.

Works which do not impact the majority of landowners along a transmission line may not be shown. Major project areas are shown for reference.

Network inspections and maintenance

Transgrid undertakes ground and aerial inspections to identify safety risks to the network and actions any necessary maintenance to keep the network safe and reliable.

We work to communicate effectively with landowners to inform them of upcoming works and look to minimise impacts to property owners.

Some of the ways we keep the network safe and reliable include carrying out:

  • climbing inspections to assess the condition of lines and towers
  • annual aerial vegetation surveys to identify trees and shrubs growing too close to lines
  • vegetation management to maintain safety clearances
  • thermographic surveys using a helicopter to assess the condition of lines
  • inspections of lines and towers using drones
  • routine inspections of lines, structures and easements
  • inspections of wooden poles to assess their condition and replacing old poles as needed
  • refurbishment works where elements of lines and towers are replaced and easements and easement access is managed.
  • Smart Aerial Imagery Processing (SAIP) to assess the condition of conductors.

Smart aerial tech improving network safety

Our team is taking to the skies with Raedyne Systems, using Smart Aerial Imagery Processing (SAIP) to inspect high-voltage transmission lines conductors across NSW and the ACT. With advanced cameras and AI-driven analysis, we can detect wear early and act before issues arise — keeping power flowing safely and reliably for our communities.
