Responsible procurement

Our suppliers are an integral and valued part of our business operations. We adopt a holistic approach to procurement, and consider a range of aspects including sustainability, performance, health and safety, and efficiencies when entering into supplier agreements. 

We aim to make any interactions our suppliers have with us as seamless as possible and are partnering with SAP Ariba® to deliver ibuy – a digital platform that will streamline and automate our procurement processes.

COVID-19 precautions

We have taken precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and ask our suppliers and their employees to be mindful of the following guidelines:

  • Travel obligations – If one of your employees has been overseas recently, or been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus, they must complete 14 days of self-isolation before we can allow them to have face-to-face interaction with TransGrid staff.
  • Symptoms – Please do not allow any of your employees to attend TransGrid sites or events if they have cold or flu symptoms. 
  • Meetings and domestic travel – We are currently limiting external meetings and have suspended domestic travel. We are maximising the use of telephone calls and videoconferences.   
  • Infection – Please inform us if anyone in your workplace is infected with coronavirus so that we can act to protect the health of our staff.
