Transgrid has modified the preferred route for the nation-critical VNI West project in direct response to feedback from the local community and landowners during recent consultation.

Landowners, community members and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on the VNI West Contingent Project Application (CPA Stage 1), which outlines preliminary consumer savings and the estimated costs for early works and delivery of the nation-critical transmission line.

Transgrid is encouraging communities and landowners in the state’s Murray River region to review the preferred route for the new interconnector project VNI West, which once completed, will accelerate the energy transition and greatly increase the sharing of cheaper, renewable electricity for millions of Australians.

Community and landowner feedback has supported an expansion of the preferred corridor for VNI West, a critical new interconnector project prioritised by the Commonwealth Government to increase the sharing of renewable energy between NSW and Victoria.

Following feedback from community and landowners, Transgrid has extended the consultation period about the Draft Corridor Report for the Victoria to NSW Interconnector West project (VNI West).

Members of the community and landowners will have more opportunities to provide feedback and ask questions about the Draft Corridor Report for the Victoria to NSW Interconnector West project (VNI West) in July and August.
