Transgrid leader recognised at National Infrastructure Awards

24 April 2026

A leading energy executive at Australia’s largest transmission business has received national recognition for her contribution to Australia’s infrastructure sector over two decades.

Transgrid Executive General Manager Maryanne Graham was named winner of the Women’s Achievement in Infrastructure Award at the 2026 Infrastructure Partnerships Australia (IPA) annual awards in Melbourne last night.

The prestigious award recognises Ms Graham’s significant contribution to Australia’s infrastructure sector, across some of the nation’s largest and most complex programs across energy, road, rail, aviation, water and public policy landscape through a career spanning more than 25 years.

Across her career, Ms Graham has led strategy, planning, stakeholder engagement, corporate affairs, regulatory reform, property and policy for mega scale projects including Western Sydney International Airport, WestConnex, light rail and water infrastructure, urban renewal and currently on Transgrid’s transformative energy project pipeline.

As Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement and Environment at Transgrid, Ms Graham is applying that leadership to help accelerate the renewable energy transition.

Transgrid Group CEO Brett Redman said the recognition of Ms Graham’s contribution reflected decades of leadership that had shaped how the infrastructure sector works with communities, First Nations people and governments.

“Maryanne is one of the most trusted and influential voices in Australian infrastructure,” Mr Redman said.

“Her leadership – particularly in building trust with communities, First Nations engagement and policy reform – has shaped how our industry delivers the projects Australia relies on.

“That work underpins the energy transition as much as, if not more, any physical infrastructure. This recognition is much deserved, and I congratulate Maryanne on her unwavering commitment to excellence in the delivery of critical infrastructure.”

As Transgrid’s Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement and Environment, Ms Graham has played a pivotal role in shaping the policy, planning and engagement settings needed to deliver nation-building infrastructure in the long-term interests of local communities and energy consumers.

Ms Graham said the recognition reflected the work of teams across Transgrid and the broader infrastructure sector.

“This recognition belongs to the people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside throughout my career – the teams who turn policy into delivery, and who work every day to build trust with the communities we serve,” Ms Graham said.

Transgrid was also a finalist in three other awards: Operator & Service Provider Excellence category for its Network Asset Strategy; Financial Excellence category for its A$1.4 billion subordinated notes issuance; and Future Infrastructure Leader of the Year category for Noha Hasan, Reporting Manager for the HumeLink project.

The IPA Annual Infrastructure Oration & National Infrastructure Awards is the industry’s flagship event, recognising excellence across Australia and New Zealand’s infrastructure sector.
