Transgrid’s Community Partnerships Program (CPP) is now open, supporting local not-for-profits to deliver projects that strengthen communities in the areas where we operate.
Eligible organisations are invited to apply for funding to help bring positive, lasting outcomes to life.

The Transgrid Discovery Hub is a first of its kind for Transgrid, offering a consistent and accessible point of connection with the Wagga community, landowners, and businesses in the surrounding areas. Located at 27 Kincaid St, Wagga Wagga, this innovative shopfront provides visitors with an inviting, space to engage with Transgrid and access information about our energy vision, major projects, operations, and community-based activities, all tailored to highlight the crucial role Wagga Wagga plays in the energy transition, and the opportunities this presents for the community.
This Hub provides the community with a one-stop-shop for an integrated view of Transgrid’s activities within the region, ensuring a seamless experience for all enquiries through our ‘no wrong door’ approach.
We are proud to announce that the design and development of the building were undertaken by local Wagga business using 100% locally sourced materials and services.
Beyond its role as a shopfront the Hub serves as a community space for engaging with major projects and Transgrid’s energy vision.
The Transgrid Discovery Hub HumeLink Bus Tours provide an opportunity for community members and stakeholders to learn more about the HumeLink project and how it is being delivered.
During the tour, the Transgrid project team will share a clear and practical overview of the HumeLink works, including the purpose of the project and what construction involves, while visiting a key viewing point or construction area. Attendees will receive up‑to‑date information and have the opportunities to ask questions and learn more directly from the people working on the project.
The Discovery Hub HumeLink Bus Tour sessions are designed to support open communication, strengthen transparency, and build trust with local communities. They also provide a space for participants to ask questions, discuss common concerns, and engage in direct conversation with the HumeLink project team.
We welcome local residents and landholders, local councils and stakeholder organisations, and interested members of the community to register and learn more about the HumeLink project through the Transgrid Discovery Hub Bus Tours.

We’re excited to announce Mater Dei Catholic College as the winners of our Discovery Challenge!
Students Miley and Holly impressed us with their creative experiment concept, “One Big Thing” — a scavenger hunt-style science experience that explores geology, ecology, physics and more.
As part of their prize, Mater Dei will receive $2,500 to support STEM learning through equipment or experiences and the students will receive a prize pack valued at $200 each. We’re working with the school to bring their experiment to life and celebrate their achievement.

The Discovery Challenge is an exciting school competition available to primary and secondary schools across NSW & ACT, giving students the opportunity to get their creative and innovative ideas to shine!
The challenge invites students to design and present an 'Experiment Pack' that investigates an energy, engineering or environment-based question.
The winning teams will have their Experiment Pack concept brought to life and allow the experiment to be recreated at Transgrid's Discovery Hub and beyond!
In 2024, Kooringal High School sparked a victory with their entry, Transitioning to Renewable - For Kids. Their submission involved an interactive artwork aimed to educate and engage primary school students on three of the most common renewable energy sources used in Australia - solar, wind and hydro. Their pod is currently being workshopped to be built and installed so it can come to life in our Discovery Hub.

In 2023, Mater Dei Catholic College lit up the competition with their standout submission, Energy the Game. Their adventure included hands-on coding workshops with a local game designer, and now, Energy the Game continues to energise the community in the Discovery Hub with over 1000 people playing the games in the last six months!
