A fact-finding mission to the United Kingdom has provided valuable learnings to ensure Transgrid is well placed to continue its critical role in accelerating Australia’s clean energy transition.

Transgrid has welcomed the release of two major reports which highlight the urgent need to invest in transmission infrastructure to accelerate Australia’s transition to a clean energy future.

Transgrid has welcomed the NSW Government’s final environmental approval for the eastern section of the nation’s biggest transmission project EnergyConnect, as works in the western section accelerate.

Renewable energy will soon flow between Victoria, NSW and the ACT with Transgrid using world-leading technology to unlock additional energy to power more than 30,000 homes.

EnergyConnect will invest millions of dollars with local suppliers and is currently awarding local procurement packages along its alignment in NSW from Wentworth to Wagga Wagga following the start of construction on the $1.8 billion interconnector.

Transgrid is partnering with Charles Sturt University to help train the nation’s next generation of engineers and address Australia’s infrastructure skills shortage.
