Face-to-face consultation with the community will start next week in Tumut and Wagga Wagga for HumeLink.
19 August 2020
In response to community requests for more information about the project, TransGrid will hold the first three consultation sessions on August 26, 27 and 28, with two consultations planned in Tumut and the third in Wagga Wagga.
The meetings are part of a wider plan which will deliver regular local consultations to all communities along the indicative route for the project.
Community consultations are also planned for the following locations:
-
Tumut
-
Wagga Wagga
-
Yass
-
Gundagai
-
Goulburn
The local meetings will be conducted with small to medium sized groups in accordance with NSW Public Health’s COVID-safe guidelines. They will continue in all communities and across the full length of the project.
HumeLink, which has been prioritised by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and the Federal and NSW Governments, will provide 1220 jobs during construction. Subject to approval by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), the new transmission line will transfer electricity from the State’s southern shared network - including from the expansion of Snowy Hydro - to customers all across the state and the ACT.
