TransGrid announces new community partnerships in the Yass Valley and Snowy Valleys regions
TransGrid has selected ten community groups across the Yass Valley and Snowy Valleys regions with which to share close to $50,000 of community grants through its Community Partnerships Program.
The Community Partnerships Program is part of TransGrid's commitment to build positive and lasting relationships with the communities in which we work.
A number of applications were received from a wide of community organisations for the latest round of funding in Yass Valley and Snowy Valleys. Each application was assessed by TransGrid's Community Partnerships Program Panel and ten organisations were chosen to receive a grant to support their local community initiative.
A full list of the successful recipients is provided below.
Now in its sixth year, the program has delivered more than $400,000 in funding to community groups and organisations across New South Wales. For further information, please refer to the information at the bottom of this page.

Cycle Tumbarumba | Tools to build and maintain mountain bike trail, which helps promote physical activity and fitness | $5000 |
National Heart Foundation of Australia (N.S.W. Division) | Jump Rope for Heart - Outreach program, to teach students about physical activity, nutrition and healthy lifestyles | $2,400 |
Murrumbateman Scouts | Installing electricity at Scout Hall to assist in the delivery of the Scouts program, which guides local youths to assist in their development | $5000 |
Tumut Men’s Shed | Electrical upgrade to workshop and outside area to remove current electrical hazards | $3294 |
Tumut Youth Council | Funding towards the creation of two Youth Week skate and BMX events to help promote healthy lifestyles and choices | $4500 |
Vine Community Foodcare | Improvements to facility to ensure it meets council requirements and improve storage of food which is supplied for families in need | $4000 |
Yass Interact and Rotaract | Yass Community Mental Health Awareness Program - aims to raise awareness of mental health in the Yass community | $5,000 |
Launched in 2012, the Community Partnerships Program is part of TransGrid's ongoing commitment to help build lasting relationships with local communities in areas where TransGrid assets are located, being built, or upgraded.
